External Research Projects are MAU's collaborators, partners, scientific and medical researchers and Co-Principal Investigators (Co-PIs) . The studies and/or projects are categorized as "external" based upon the following factors:
1. The study/project is not funded or sponsored by MAU or is partially funded or co-sponsored by both parties.
2. These are classified as "external projects" or studies that have made an agreement with MAU to utilize MAU's facility and resources to allow researchers to conduct longitudinal research projects.
3. External research opportunities allows external researchers and external entities to propose projects / studies to bring onboard MAU analog missions and will be conduct by the crew teams but supervised and managed by the external research team with oversight and approval by MAU's Scientific team.
